Roster Role: 5.30 PM Tech Support

Edit

This role requires you to:

  • Arrive at 5pm so you have adequate time to set up and troubleshoot.
  • Set up the schedule in 'EasyWorship'. Usually, the items for the schedule will be entered by someone before Sunday but you will need to put them in the right order and add things that need to be added, e.g. sermon slides, announcments, videos, games, etc. If there's no 6pm schedule in the 'recent documents' list, please create a new one and save it appropriately.
  • Liaise with the Service Leader for the order and and extra items.
  • Double-check with the Preacher to find out if they need anything added.
  • Work with the musicians, while they practise to confirm songs, that the lyrics match, repeats, etc.
  • At least 5 minutes before the service begins, put up the scrolling announcements. This PowerPoint should already be inserted into the schedule at the beginning or end.
  • During the service, run through the items in EasyWorship so they display on the screen at the appropriate moments, and take care to time when you move onto the next slide so those reading or singing from the screen are not left hanging.
  • Record the sermon using the sound system. Click the 'UI' button on the bar at the bottom of the screen, then click the 'record' button (red spot), near the top-right of the window, at the top of the 'Master Volume' slide control. The 'record' button will change to a 'stop' button (red square) while recording. Click 'stop' at the end of the sermon.
  • At some point during the service, mark the roll. If there is anyone you don't recognise, introduce yourself to them (without the clipboard in hand) or ask someone who you think might know their name so you can add their name to the blanks spaces at the end of the roll. It's important to have names so we can make connections if the same 'visitor' has come several weeks in a row but been marked present by different people under a generic description. If it's their first time, ask them to fill in a Communication Card (found by the front door) or ask someone who feels confortable to give them the card.
  • After the service, put the 'scrolling announcments' back up and clear away any papers or washing up from the Sound Desk, leaving it clean and tidy.
  • After a while of people fellowshipping over supper, turn everything off: the TV on the back wall, the sound switch, the projector, the TV in the foyer, any other appliances used, the computer monitor but NOT the Sound Desk computers.
